Notes

KICK-ASS So, last night some friends and I went to an early screening of KICK-ASS, the movie based off of one of my favorite comic books. The comic is written by Mark Millar and illustrated by John Romita, Jr.and published by Marvel Comics, you should really check it out if you haven’t.

(Spoilers) Anyway I went into this movie thinking it wasn’t going to be nearly as good as the comic but it should at least be fun.If you have not read the comic you will probably like the movie, It’s really fun with awesome fight scenes. However, if you have read the comic book, you will realize how much they have changed and made it into some what cliche’.So I am going to rant off what I did and did not like…Dislikes:
-Big Daddy- What the hell? They pretty much Big Daddy “Batman” with an extremely similar costume and matching utility belt. They also made him talk like William Shatner for some reason..Dumb..

-Kick-ass- Kickass does not get the girl!! One of my favorite parts of the comic is he girl hates him at the end.And he sure as hell doesn’t fly around New York with a jet pack with gatling guns on it..Pretty lame.

-Red Mist- In the comic books Red Mist is cool and kind of bad ass, in the movie he is such a stupid sissy nerd, and he has the lamest costume EVER.

Likes--Hit girl- Hit girl was awesome, she was a hard ass, gun toting, sword swinging, drug dealer killing machine, and she was still cute and only eleven

-Fight scenes- The fight scenes were REALLY awesome. Jam packed full of action and voilence, Hit girl and Big Daddy killed the biggest drug dealers in NYC with everything from guns, knives and swords to grenades and fire.Pretty rad.

So, like I said before It was really fun, If I had not read it first I think I would of really liked it. I know the movie can’t be just like the comic, but I don’t think they needed to change anything at all..The comic is so perfect. Knowing what the comic is and seeing the movie, some parts just made me laugh out loud. But I think I want to see it again anyway, just because it was so fun.
